Travel management company Agiito is to start working with technology firm TravelTime to provide meeting bookers with accurate travel time information when searching for potential venues.
UK-based TravelTime, which calculates travel times through its API links with clients, is moving into the corporate travel market after previously specialising in offering services to the property and recruitment sectors, where customers have included TotalJobs, Jobsite.co.uk and Zoopla.
The partnership with Agiito will allow its clients’ meeting bookers to see venue options ranked by travel time rather than having to source this information through other websites or platforms. The TMC said this new functionality would give bookers an “accurate picture to make informed decisions” on venues.
Carl Law, chief technology officer at Agiito, said: “Currently, booking tools in the industry base the distance stated in venue searches on a straight-line measurement.
“By making the search results more relevant and accurate, we can offer our customers a more convenient, reliable and personalised experience when booking meetings.”
Agiito is currently implementing the TravelTime API into its Meetingspro venue-finding booking tool. Bookers will then be able to search for venues based on their criteria and see the physical walking time to each venue.
Charlie Davies, CEO of TravelTime, added: “Meeting bookers shouldn’t have to rely on inaccurate data to make important location decisions; they should be presented with accurate information that enables them to make the right location-based decision.”
Agiito said it planned to pilot the new travel time functionality with customers from February. The TMC said it had made several improvements to the Meetingspro tool recently, including the addition of live availability and instant booking.
