Amadeus is to start offering Ouigo tickets through its booking channels as part of a renewed distribution partnership with French rail giant SNCF.
Ouigo, which is a subsidiary of national state-owned train company SNCF, operates a range of low-cost conventional and high-speed train services in France.
The new deal between Amadeus and SNCF will allow the technology firm to “play an active role in extending the distribution of Ouigo content to travel agencies in France”.
From 2024, agencies and TMCs in France will be able to include Ouigo content in their trip management flows through platforms such as Amadeus Rail Display in the Amadeus Selling Platform.
Frédéric Laurent-Miel, SNCF’s head of agencies and companies distribution, said: “Travel sellers will have access to new rail options, and the ability to choose the relevant solution for customers in terms of fares, trip duration, ancillary services, comfort and proximity to city centres.”
Michael Stalter, head of rail sales at Amadeus, added: “Rail is increasingly seen as a preferred option for travellers in Europe, not least due to its better sustainability credentials when compared to flying. Amadeus is aiming to offer the richest range of rail content to our travel seller partners.”
