Global travel management company CWT is creating Carbon Emission Summary dashboards to allow clients an overview of their CO2 impact from travel.
The move, which follows CWT’s launch of carbon footprint indicators in March, is designed to further enhance CO2 reporting capabilities through its partnership with carbon intelligence specialist Thrust Carbon.
The new dashboards, which are integrated into CWT’s business intelligence solution, provide an “all in one” overview of emissions from travel using methodology from either the UK’s DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) or Thrust Carbon.
Charlie Sullivan, CWT’s head of product management, travel management portfolio, said: “We know that when it comes to CO2 data, greater accuracy and clarity supports greater accountability and better choices.
“Companies pursuing climate initiatives are looking for more comprehensive greenhouse gas emission data and analytics.”
Sullivan added this trend was reflected in a recent client survey with 79 per cent of CWT’s global customers wanting this kind of data and insight into their travel emissions.
“With that in mind, and in keeping with our longstanding commitment to providing clients with tools and services to build more responsible travel programmes, these latest enhancements are designed to help integrate corporate sustainability goals into all of our customers' travel programmes,” said Sullivan.
CWT is also planning to release more initiatives over the next 18 months to improve its sustainability capabilities and portfolio, including through its myCWT web and mobile platform.
