TMC network GlobalStar Travel Management has expanded its presence in Japan with World Travel System (WTS) joining as a new partner.
WTS, which has been in business for 33 years, focuses on both the corporate and leisure travel markets, and is the largest international flight ticket wholesaler in Japan.
James Stevenson, CEO of GlobalStar, said WTS was its sixth new partner to join the network in the past 11 months.
“WTS brings intimate knowledge of its local market, a reputation for meticulous service, agility and flexibility. Together we can now guarantee our clients that same degree of consistency and support for all their Japanese travel needs,” said Stevenson.
“We are seeing more and more significant travel companies from around the world looking for the ways and means of benefitting from global reach and expertise. All of our partners are substantial, significant businesses in their home markets.”
London-based GlobalStar was ranked as the third largest TMC network in Europe in BTN Europe’s list of Europe’s Leading TMCs 2021, with members in more than 85 countries across 3,500 locations.
Dhimant Thakker, CEO of World Travel System added: “Together we will be able to drive new business, deploy new technology, improve supplier deals and really benefit from, and contribute to, the breadth and knowledge that exists in the GlobalStar network.”
