Nigerian airline Air Peace is to begin operating flights between London Gatwick and Lagos from next month.
The carrier will launch the daily route from Nigeria to London on 30 March using Boeing 777 and 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
Air Peace has also signed a short-term ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance) agreement with Norse Atlantic Airways to operate some of the flights on the new London-Lagos route.
Allen Onyema, who is chairman and CEO of Air Peace, said: “Air Peace is delighted to have signed this partnership deal with Norse Atlantic Airways for the commencement of our London service.
“As we make a foray into the European market, we are confident that this strategic partnership will further position us to surpass the expectations of our customers.”
Bjørn Tore Larsen, CEO of Norse Atlantic Airways, added: “This collaboration represents an exciting opportunity to leverage our expertise in charter operations to deliver a reliable and high-quality service to Air Peace and their customers.”
In a statement, the two airlines added that they would continue to discuss “potential longer-term partnerships”.
Lagos-based Air Peace, which started commercial flights in 2014, currently has a fleet of more than 30 aircraft and operates nearly 40 routes including 10 regional and six international destinations, such as Dubai, Guangzhou, Tel Aviv, Johannesburg and Mumbai.
