Concur Travel has revealed how travel managers and their travellers can use its platforms to ensure they continue earning all their loyalty points from American Airlines.
The US carrier last week revealed the latest change to its distribution strategy, which limits the way members of its loyalty programme can earn benefits as the airline looks to push more customers through direct and NDC-based booking channels.
Concur said its tools, including the TripLink platform, can be used to ensure that members of the American AAdvantage Miles programme do not lose out on any benefits when the airline’s latest loyalty programme changes come into effect on 1 May.
In a blog, Concur said there were ways for its clients to enable American’s direct content within the Concur Travel platform.
Customers using Sabre at the US point of sale can enable the Evolution of Travel module which supports the airline’s direct booking platform.
Concur Travel clients can also make direct bookings with American Airlines via Concur Select Access, which has been available to all customers since 2021. Those using Amadeus’ GDS will soon be able to enable NDC bookings with American when this functionality is released in the second quarter of this year.
Meanwhile, TripLink automatically flows all American Airlines’ itineraries booked through the carrier’s website and app into the SAP Concur platform.
Charlie Sultan, president of Concur Travel, added: “SAP Concur has been ahead of the game in helping our customers prepare for airline full content by developing a multi-channel approach through our industry leading Concur Travel platform.
“Concur Travel has a long history of solving industry challenges such as this, and we will continue to create solutions to ensure that our corporate customers can access a supplier’s full content, lowest fares and all of their benefits, while giving the corporation the controls and data they need to effectively manage their programmes.”
