American Express Global Business Travel is tapping Expedia Group's fraud prevention solution to prevent fraudulent transactions in Egencia, the company announced.
Egencia will be using features of Expedia's Fraud Prevention as a Service, including a booking screening tool that reviews transactions with artificial-intelligence- and machine-learning-powered fraud detection models and an account takeover protection tool that monitors customer accounts.
The solution is based on "billions of data points from over 25 years of travel industry experience," according to Amex GBT, and can allow for intervention before fraud occurs.
The collaboration also is a sign of Amex GBT's progressing partnership with Expedia Group following its acquisition of Egencia in 2021.
"We value our long-standing partnership with Expedia Group and their AI-driven solutions that address the ever-evolving needs of business travel and its many stakeholders," Amex GBT SVP of travel products and engineering John Sturino said in a statement.
