Travel management company arrangeMY has acquired corporate
events specialist Ellis Salsby. Both organisations are based in Worcestershire,
UK.
ArrangeMY, ranked 34th largest TMC in the UK in 2021, says
the deal “is as
an opportunity to bolster our offering, especially in event management and
training logistics”.
Nick Scott,
arrangeMY managing director, told BTN Europe: “We were healthy
competitors but also industry friends and we’ve always had a good
relationship.”
The
TMC had pre-Covid sales of around £32 million with the acquisition expected to
add a further £8 million in business. “We’re looking at a £40 million business,
although that won’t be this year or next. Business is coming back with a
vengeance though, particularly this month and last. There’s a lot of pent-up
demand,” said Scott.
The team from Ellis Salsby has migrated over to arrangeMY,
with Ellis and Angela Salsby overseeing the integration of their clients and continuing
in a consultative role.
“The business had one of its best years before Covid. Right
now, recovery is very sector specific,” said Ellis Salsby. “Some sectors are
carrying on like nothing’s happened; others are much more cautious.”
Salsby continued: “There’s a lot of nervousness around event
protocols. There’s less of an issue at events that are controlled – you’re in a
bubble and everyone’s tested. You have confidence you’re safe in the environment.
The danger is the unmanaged events where there’s no checks on vaccination or
proof of negative lateral flow test required. There’s been a lot for our
industry to learn.”
The combined businesses will employ more than 70 staff members at
arrangeMY’s head office in Worcester.
