Travel tech firm Travelport is to distribute NDC-based content from Qatar Airways through its Travelport+ platform.
The agreement will give TMCs and travel agencies connected to Travelport+ the ability to access the Doha-based airline’s NDC fares and content, as well as being able to service these bookings including modifications and cancellations.
Matt Raos, senior vice president, global sales at Qatar Airways, said the deal would allow Travelport-connected agencies to “effortlessly shop and book our growing repertoire of NDC offers”.
"Qatar Airways has long been committed to bringing our agency partners along on the NDC journey, so we're pleased to extend our NDC offers to Travelport subscribers," added Raos.
The airline is already selling NDC-enabled content through Travelport’s main GDS rivals, Amadeus and Sabre. Qatar Airways struck a deal to distribute NDC content through the Amadeus Travel Platform in 2021 and Sabre integrated the carrier’s NDC fares in 2022.
Travelport is initially making Qatar Airways’ NDC content available to customers in around 20 markets globally, including the UK. Access will then be expanded to other markets in the “coming weeks”.
Jason Clarke, chief commercial officer, travel partners at Travelport, said: “Our agency customers will have the ability to view and compare more dynamic offers and ancillaries from Qatar Airways so they can create a more streamlined, personalised experience for travellers.
“We’ve built our NDC solution to empower travel agents to operate as modern retailers and provide the level of service that travellers need beyond the point of booking, so that our partners benefit from more upsells and greater loyalty from their customers.”
