Delta Air Lines has partnered with high-speed rail supplier Thalys to provide passengers flying from Amsterdam connections from Brussels and Antwerp.
Travellers booking through Delta's direct channels who have Brussels or Antwerp as either origin or destination will see Delta's new "Air+Rail" package, which can be booked in the same manner as a flight. Travellers then can use their ticket confirmation to get their boarding pass for the rail segment through the AccesRail website or pick up their ticket at the train station window upon arrival.
Delta president of international Alain Bellemare in a statement said the carrier has "learned from our partner airlines," as both Air France and KLM have similar programmes enabling rail bookings. The new programme is "just the beginning, as we look to offer our customers complete peace of mind with fast and convenient train service to a number of destinations throughout Europe."
A Delta spokesperson said the rail connection also will be available via global distribution systems and most corporate booking tools, though the display might vary.
