FCM Travel has promoted Andy Hegley to the newly created position of Europe leader for the Flight Centre-owned TMC.
Hegley, who was previously FCM’s managing director for the UK, Ireland and Netherlands, will now be tasked with driving the TMC’s “strategic initiatives and growth across the European region”. FCM Travel was ranked as the sixth largest TMC in Europe in 2023.
"Our customers are at the very heart of everything we do and it's exciting for me to be able to build on our renowned blended approach of both people and technology that really sets us apart when it comes to winning new business and delivering the best service to our clients,” said Hegley.
Hegley first joined Flight Centre in 2007 as a business development manager and was also UK general manager for FCM’s sister brand Corporate Traveller until 2022.
"Europe presents a dynamic landscape for business travel and I’m eager to work with our exceptional team to drive growth, enhance our client offerings and amplify FCM Travel's strong brand presence in the region,” he added.
Steve Norris, Flight Centre Travel Group's managing director for the EMEA region, said Hegley’s appointment was a “significant milestone” for FCM as it targets growth in Europe.
"With his extensive leadership experience, industry relationships and deep knowledge of business travel, we're confident Andy will be instrumental in executing our ambitious growth plans for this vital region,” added Norris.
“I'm confident Andy will lead FCM Travel in Europe to even greater heights, driving innovation and excellence across the board."
Hegley's appointment is effective immediately and he will be based at FCM Travel's headquarters in London.
