EasyJet is to offer flights for the first time to Istanbul this summer with a new route from Manchester to the Turkish city.
The UK-based budget carrier will launch the twice-weekly Manchester-Istanbul route from 9 June as it adds a 156th destination to its short-haul network. The year-round service will operate on Monday and Friday.
EasyJet already flies to four Turkish airports - Bodrum, Antalya, Dalaman and Izmir – including existing services from Manchester to Antalya and Dalaman.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager, said: “The new route from our Manchester base to this iconic city further expands the choice we can offer our customers from the north-west.”
EasyJet has added the route from Manchester after deciding to base another aircraft at the English airport for summer 2023.
