Emirates has announced plans to expand its flights to China with the resumption of services to both Shanghai and Beijing over the next two months.
The Dubai-based carrier has responded to China’s reopening of its borders last week by deciding to restart flights to Shanghai from Friday (20 January), followed by Beijing from 15 March.
Emirates is already flying to the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou and will also increase frequency of this route from the current four per week to a daily service from 1 February.
The Dubai-Shanghai route will resume later this week with initially two flights per week, using Airbus A380 aircraft, and the return service from Shanghai to Dubai making a “short” stop in Bangkok. Frequencies will “gradually” increase in the coming weeks to become a daily non-stop service from 1 March.
The airline’s Dubai-Beijing route will resume as a daily non-stop service on 15 March using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft offering three classes of travel.
