Finnair has become the first European carrier to distribute its NDC-enabled content through Sabre’s global distribution system (GDS).
The two companies have also renewed a “long-term” distribution deal covering both NDC and traditional content.
Finnair is rolling out its NDC fares globally in “multiple waves”, with 34 countries included in the first phase. This content will be available through Sabre Offer and Order APIs, as well as Sabre Red 360 and the GetThere online booking tool.
In January, Finnair said it would be implementing continuous pricing this spring, as well as restricting the availability of domestic fares to direct and NDC-based channels.
Jenni Suomela, Finnair’s vice president of global sales and channel management, added: “We are excited to take this next step in our NDC journey, improving our customers' booking experience and bringing about meaningful change in the travel sector.
“Through Sabre's Beyond NDC programme, we can provide NDC content consistently and efficiently to travel sellers.”
