Lufthansa Group has agreed a new deal with airline software specialist Accelya to help “significantly grow” the number of bookings made through NDC channels.
The two companies already work together and this latest agreement is designed to “enable NDC at scale” for six of the airline group’s airlines: Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS, Discover Airlines and Air Dolomiti.
“The partnership will further refine and enhance the NDC solutions Lufthansa Group already has in place and provide a platform to explore further retailing capabilities together,” said the companies in a statement.
Frank Naeve, Lufthansa Group’s SVP of global markets and stations, added that the group was “wholly committed to our NDC journey and continue to aim for significant growth in the NDC channel in the coming years”.
“This requires an approach which provides industrial scalability and offers highly flexible and modular components,” said Naeve. “Accelya, with its deep understanding of the airline industry combined with proven NDC adoption, is a strong partner for the Lufthansa Groups’ next level expansion phase.”
Accelya has also struck NDC deals with other major airlines around the world, including United Airlines, Qantas and American Airlines.
Sam Gilliland, CEO at Accelya, said: “Having worked with them since the very start of their NDC journey, we’re excited to be contributing to the next phase of their NDC growth and enabling Lufthansa Group’s retail modernisation.”
