Travel technology giants Sabre and Travelport have both announced plans to roll out NDC offers for Lufthansa Group’s airlines.
The NDC content will cover the European airline group’s carriers, including Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Swiss and Air Dolomiti.
Sabre said that NDC content currently is available to agents in Italy upon activation of Lufthansa Group's NDC Partner Programme through Sabre Offer and Order APIs, Sabre's Red 360 agency booking solution and its GetThere online booking tool.
The global roll-out of Lufthansa Group’s NDC offers is expected to happen during the first half of 2024, according to Sabre.
In a separate move, Travelport announced it was also launching “retail ready” NDC content from Lufthansa Group’s airlines on its Travelport+ platform.
This NDC content and servicing has initially been made available to Travelport-connected agencies and TMCs in Austria, Ireland, UK and the Netherlands, with access being extended to more European countries in the “coming weeks”.
Travelport added that it would roll out Lufthansa Group’s NDC content to customers in the Americas, Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific regions in early 2024.
Jason Clarke, Travelport’s chief commercial officer, travel partners, added: “We are dedicated to making NDC easy for the agency community, and that is why we have focused on delivering a complete retail ready NDC solution for the Lufthansa Group airlines.”
Last year, Lufthansa Group agreed a deal with another travel tech giant Amadeus to distribute its NDC content through B2B platforms.
