SAS will add a new transatlantic route between Copenhagen and Atlanta starting on 17 June, increasing its North American destinations to nine.
The Nordic carrier will operate daily flights on the Copenhagen-Atlanta route for the summer season using Airbus A330 aircraft and then fly five times weekly during the winter schedule using Airbus A350s.
SAS is also increasing frequencies on existing routes between Denmark and North America this summer, with flights between Copenhagen and New York’s JFK airport operating up to twice daily. This will complement existing daily flights from Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen to New York Newark airport.
The airline’s Copenhagen-Boston route will operate daily, up from six times weekly, and SAS will add a fourth weekly flight between Copenhagen and Toronto.
Anko van der Werff, president and CEO of SAS, said of the new destination: “Through an agreement with Delta Air Lines, passengers can continue their journey on other Delta-served destinations out of Atlanta.
“This development means an expanded offering for SAS passengers, who can look forward to reaching several new and exciting destinations across the southern US, Caribbean and Latin America, all conveniently accessible from Atlanta.”
