Browser extension-based travel messaging provider Shep now provides in-booking destination-specific Covid-19 data and guidance sourced from risk assessment specialist Riskline, the companies have announced.
Under the new partnership, Shep's platform integrates Riskline's Covid-19 application programming interface to provide travellers with relevant notifications and alerts within the booking flow on corporate booking tools and consumer sites. Data is available down to the state or province level for destination countries including Spain, France, the US, Canada and Australia.
That data granularity is a differentiator of Riskline's services, according to company commercial director Suzanne Sangiovese.
"Travel guidance and restrictions can not only differ from one country to another, but also vary considerably within a single country. It’s important to reflect this in the travel data," Sangiovese said—adding that intranational-level data will be key to support the near-term return of domestic corporate travel, which most suppliers and officials expect to resume sooner than international.
In June, Riskline signed a deal to integrate its safety data into the platform of meetings planning technology provider Troop and last year inked an integration partnership with white-label TMC app developer mTrip.
