Turkish Airlines is relaunching its low-cost carrier AnadoluJet under the new name AJet in spring 2024.
AnadoluJet, which was first established in 2008 to operate flights to the Anatolia region of Turkey, will operate as a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines following its rebranding to AJet at the start of the summer 2024 season when destinations will include the UK.
Ahmet Bolat, who is chairman of Turkish Airlines’ board and executive committee, said: “In line with our goals for the next 10 years, we are proud to have started the establishment process of our AJet.
“The efforts and dedication we have put in for a long time have paid off, and we will introduce AJet to the skies with its summer schedule at the end of March 2024.
“We fully believe that AJet, with its new name, will become an important part of the low-cost aviation industry on a global scale.”
AJet will operate from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen and Ankara Esenboğa airports in Turkey following the relaunch in March. Like other budget airlines it will just offer economy class seating across its fleet.
