United Airlines has added eight new members to its United Airlines Ventures Sustainable Flight Fund, the carrier announced on Wednesday (14 February).
The US carrier launched the fund one year ago to focus investments on sustainable aviation fuel research, technology and production.
The new partners include Aircastle, Air New Zealand, Embraer, Google, HIS, Natixis CIB, Safran and Technip Energies, according to United.
Another eight companies in July 2023 – including Amex GBT, Paris airport operator Group ADP and JetBlue Ventures – had joined the original partners. There are currently 22 participants, and the fund now exceeds US$200 million in capital.
Consumers also can contribute to supplement United's investment in the fund with donation options of $1, $3.50 or $7.
Since its launch in February 2023, more than 115,000 people have contributed nearly $500,000, according to the carrier.
