Spanish low-cost carrier Vueling will launch two new routes from London Heathrow in April, to Barcelona El Prat and Paris Orly airports.
The airline, part of the IAG group, will operate twice daily from Heathrow to Barcelona El Prat, its primary hub. Vueling already operates eight flights a day between Barcelona and its main UK hub, London Gatwick.
It marks the reintroduction of Vueling services from Heathrow with its services from the West London hub axed in March 2020. The new routes will commence using slots leased from IAG partner airline British Airways.
Meanwhile, the carrier’s new service between Heathrow and Paris Orly will operate daily and currently faces no competition between the two airports.
Both new routes commence on 7 April and are now on sale.
Carolyn Prowse, chief commercial, customer, network and strategy officer at Vueling, said: “We are delighted to relaunch operations from London Heathrow. These two new routes are in addition to our existing operation from London Gatwick and positions Vueling as one of the key airlines connecting these major hubs across Europe.”
She added: “Paris Orly is our second-largest operating base and is currently not served from Heathrow at all. This relaunch has been possible thanks to our strong collaboration with British Airways.”
