Vueling will launch a new service from London Gatwick to Alicante-Elche Airport from 28 March as part of its summer 2023 schedule.
Flights will operate three times weekly on the new route – on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday – as the Spanish budget carrier looks to “strengthen” its presence at its international hubs in London Gatwick and Paris Orly.
The carrier, part of IAG, said it plans to operate more than 300 routes across its network in 2023, including 30 “new options” to more than 100 destinations.
In 2022, Vueling increased capacity at Gatwick with 16 direct routes during summer, almost doubling operations compared to summer 2019, and also increased its presence at Paris Orly with 39 additional routes (compared to 2019) thanks to new slots.
The carrier also recently announced details of its digitalisation strategy, which includes plans to distribute 100 per cent of its offer through its ‘Vueling Partners’ portal and via NDC connection by 2024.
