Travel tech giant Amadeus is to integrate taxi bookings into its Cytric travel and expenses booking tool through a new partnership with Karhoo.
The link-up with Karhoo will allow business travellers to book rides from taxi and private transfer companies in more than 1,000 cities globally through the Cytric mobile app. They will also be able to compare prices, category of vehicle and estimated wait time.
Vasken Tokatlian, vice president of partnerships and alliances at Amadeus Cytric Solutions, said the Karhoo partnership would make Cytric “more user friendly” for travellers.
“We want them to have everything they need at their fingertips. This partnership with Karhoo really takes us to the next level when it comes to providing a true end-to-end experience for business travellers,” added Tokatlian.
As a future enhancement, Amadeus is also planning to link the receipts generated automatically from Karhoo bookings for clients using the Cytric expense solution.
Karhoo, which was founded in 2017 and is now owned by French car company Renault Group, has created a global marketplace connecting travel firms and their passengers with taxis and private hire vehicles.
Amadeus has been busy developing its Cytric corporate tool this year, which has included being integrated within the Microsoft 365 suite of business software, such as the communications app Teams and email system Outlook.
