Travel management company ATPI is poised to sign a deal that will enable its clients to purchase sustainable aviation fuel from one of the world's leading producers, Neste.
Pippa Ganderton, product director of the TMC's sustainability offering ATPI Halo, confirmed the imminent partnership at the Institute of Travel Management's Road to Net Zero event this week.
In a post on the company's website last month, ATPI said its partnership with Neste would "significantly enhance the versatility of carbon reduction solutions" for its clients.
It said the partnership will enable clients to "purchase in-sector emission reductions and have a single certificate for their investment rather than trying to manage this administration across multiple carriers and sources".
Speaking at the ITM event, Ganderton said that purchasing SAF directly from a producer will also help avoid 'double counting' where one carbon emission reduction action is inadvertently claimed by more than one body.
"As the global aviation sector grapples with the challenges of achieving
Net Zero goals, collaborative initiatives like these pave the way for a
more sustainable and responsible future in air travel," said the TMC.
