British Airways is to launch a new route from London Heathrow to Florence in Italy as part of its summer 2023 schedule.
The daily service will start from 26 April with flights operating from Heathrow’s Terminal 5 using Airbus A320 Neo aircraft.
The addition of Florence means that the airline will serve 11 Italian destinations from Heathrow next summer. British Airways already operates flights from London City airport to Florence.
Neil Chernoff, director of networks and alliances at British Airways, said: “Not only is this good news for UK travellers, but also for those connecting in London to and from US destinations. The flights’ timings have been optimised for connectivity to popular routes, including New York, Boston and Chicago.”
The airline’s other new destinations for summer 2023 include a new route from Heathrow to Cincinnati in the US, as well as Gatwick routes to the Caribbean destinations of Aruba and Guyana.
