Event booking platform Hubli will soon display the ‘green credentials’ of venues following a partnership with Green Key, the companies announced on Wednesday (15 February).
The partnership, which will ‘go live’ on 28 February, will allow meeting planners to identify accredited venues via a search function. The first wave of venues will be visible on the platform from early March.
Green Key’s certified venues, which include hotels, conference centres and restaurants, are maintained through a ‘strict set of criteria and rigorous documentation’ as well as on-site audits and third-party verification, according to the company.
The eco-certification programme features more than 3,600 certified sites in Europe, including 281 in Belgium, 205 in Denmark, 617 in France, 689 in the Netherlands, 213 in Portugal and 172 in Sweden. There's also 36 sites in England, 38 in Germany and 15 in Italy.
The collaboration follows the 2022 launch of Hubli Green, a sustainability feature that allows planners to choose venue locations based on the lowest CO2 emissions.
Hubli founder, Ciaran Delaney, said: “It’s our goal to allow global organisations to facilitate cost-effective, sustainable in-person collaboration at scale. We’re very excited to partner with such a well-known, trusted sustainability partner and continue to expand our ESG solutions.”
Hubli CTO, David Hendrick, added: “This integration with Green Key will allow us to rapidly onboard and automatically maintain thousands of sustainable venues within the Hubli platform, solidifying our goal to be a driver of positive environmental change.”
