Start-up transatlantic carrier Norse Atlantic Airways is adding a new route between Rome Fiumicino and New York’s JFK airports from 19 June.
Rome will become Norse Atlantic’s fifth European route to New York and will operate daily using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft featuring two cabins, Premium and Economy.
The airline, which was founded in March 2021 and launched transatlantic flights in summer 2022, is also scheduled to start a Paris Charles de Gaulle-New York service from 26 March. Norse Atlantic also operates from London Gatwick, Berlin and Oslo airports in Europe.
Bjorn Tore Larsen, CEO of Norse Atlantic Airways, said: “The addition of Rome to our network will provide another gateway to Europe and strengthen our presence in New York.”
The outbound Rome-New York flight will depart at 19.30 and arrive at JFK airport at 23.00. The return departs JFK at 01.00 for arrival in Rome at 15.45.
Norse Atlantic also operates a “virtual” interline agreement with easyJet, Norwegian and Spirit Airlines in the US, which allows the carrier’s transatlantic passengers access to 600 weekly flights from its hubs.
