TripActions Group has announced that its Reed & Mackay subsidiary has purchased Spain-based Atlanta Events & Corporate Travel Consultants.
The deal is the fourth Europe-based acquisition by fast-growing TripActions in the past 18 months after adding Reed & Mackay in May 2021, followed by Germany’s Comtravo and Sweden-based Resia earlier this year. Further details of this latest purchase have not been revealed.
Atlanta Events & Corporate Travel Consultants, which was founded more than 40 years ago, has been part of Reed & Mackay’s international partnership for more than a decade. It has offices in Andalucia, Barcelona and Madrid, with a staff of more than 70 business travel and events specialists.
Following the acquisition, Atlanta will be “positioned to meet the increasingly global needs of its client base”. Both TripActions and Reed & Mackay’s clients will also “gain enhanced expertise and content for the region” through the deal.
Reed & Mackay’s CEO Fred Stratford said: “Not only does Atlanta Events & Corporate Travel Consultants bring deep-rooted knowledge of the Spanish corporate travel, meetings and events market, its values also closely align with Reed & Mackay’s uncompromising focus on high-touch service.”
London-based Reed & Mackay has expanded its meetings and events staffing levels fivefold in recent months to “meet the explosion in demand”.
Guillermo Fuster, founder of Atlanta Events & Corporate Travel Consultants, added: “We are delighted to lead the start of Reed & Mackay and TripActions in Spain, uniting strength and guaranteeing the capability of offering all that companies need – now and in the future.”
TripActions has recently concluded another round of investment, which has taken the TMC’s value up to $9.2 billion.
Ariel Cohen, TripActions’ co-founder and CEO, said: “As people look to meet face-to-face, meetings and events – including team onsites and offsites – are driving a large share of the recovery.
“From TripActions’ self-serve Team Travel platform to the expanding reach of Reed & Mackay, the TripAction Group’s clear vision of post-pandemic travel continues to bear out. We’re excited to extend this vision and reach into Spain.”
