Scandic Hotels has opened a new 311-room property in Nuremberg following the renovation and rebranding of the city's former Hotel Pomander.
Located in the centre of the city and a 20-minute drive from Nuremberg Airport, Scandic Nürnberg Central includes 10 meeting rooms and a ballroom with capacity for 800 guests, 28 co-working spaces as well as a restaurant and bar, gym, saunas and an indoor pool.
Among its room inventory, the hotel features three accessible rooms, 30 pet-friendly rooms and 15 suites.
Scandic Hotels country managing director for Germany and Poland, Michel Schutzbach, said: “By opening a hotel in another major city, we’re gradually establishing our Scandinavian brand in Germany and offering a hotel experience that appeals to a wide range of business and leisure travellers.”
Following a ‘major renovation’ of the former Hotel Pomander, the property has been certified by the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, which includes criteria such as the absence of single-use disposables, reduced water consumption, a ‘climate-friendly’ menu and a focus on reducing food waste.
The newly opened hotel is the group’s seventh property in Germany, following hotels in Munich, Berlin, Hamburg and Frankfurt.
