Data management company Travelogix is enhancing its sustainability reporting through a new partnership with Thrust Carbon.
Travelogix is integrating the Thrust Carbon Calculator in its platforms which will provide its TMC partners and customers with a broader range of sustainability reporting methodologies, including those of DEFRA, ICAO, IATA and Thrust’s own methodology.
It had previously provided sustainability reporting primarily using DEFRA metrics and was “eager” to improve its offering.
In addition, Travelogix says the partnership will automate the process of transferring clean travel data to Thrust Carbon. Utilising its Analytix data management suite, the integration enables the seamless transfer of comprehensive air, rail, hotel and car rental data between its partner TMCs and Thrust Carbon.
The partnership gives users access to “sophisticated sustainability intelligence tools” and provides the ability to set and manage carbon budgets and receive emission reduction recommendations.
Netherlands-based Munckhof Business Travel is an early adopter of the Thrust Carbon Calculator integration while the UK’s Norad Travel is debuting the automated data handoff functionality.
“For some time, we have been eager to improve our sustainability reporting. We wanted to go beyond the current limitations that DEFRA reporting serves up to the business travel community,” says Chris Lewis, Travelogix founder and CEO. “This is why the integration project with Thrust Carbon was an absolute must due to the complexities and accuracies of the data for interested TMCs.”
Kit Aspen, founder at Thrust Carbon, added: “Too often a lack of great sustainability data is all that is holding a business back from emissions reduction, so commitments and partners from industry trailblazers such as Travelogix is key to putting the world on a more sustainable path.”
