Guy Snelgar joins the Advantage Travel Partnership as global business travel director
The Advantage Travel Partnership has appointed Guy Snelgar to the newly created position of global business travel director.
Announced at the organisation’s conference in Madeira today, the former independent consultant assumes the role from 1 June.
Snelgar joins from Barndello Consulting, the company he founded to support corporates, TMCs and tech providers with strategic initiatives and implementation projects. He has an extensive business travel background that includes roles with global distribution systems Travelport and Amadeus, Sabre booking tool Getthere and Diners Club.
“I am delighted that Guy will be joining us in this new senior role and as a key member of my executive team and group board,” said Advantage chief executive Julia Lo Bue-Said.
“He brings to Advantage over 30 years of highly relevant experience having worked for the three large GDS companies, a TMC and a hotel chain. I have great confidence that he will be a driving force behind our ambitious growth plans for this important part of our business.”
Commenting on the creation of the new role, Lo Bue-Said added: “Business travel accounts for over 50 per cent of our members’ annual turnover, to the tune of £3 billion per annum, and Guy’s extensive background and understanding of the industry, coupled with his vast knowledge of travel-related technology, will make him a real asset to the business, and help us deliver even greater value to our members as we continue to invest significantly in our commercial products and services.”
