Altour founder Alexandre Chemla will leave his position as CEO of the travel management company at the end of this year, according to its parent company Internova Travel Group.
Chemla, who set up Altour in 1991, continued as its leader following the merger with Travel Leaders Group in 2017. Travel Leaders later rebranded as Internova in 2020.
Internova’s CEO JD O'Hara said of Chemla: “He has made an extraordinary and lasting impact on our company and on our industry. Altour is a perfect fit with our Internova family of brands. He and I both believe in the vital importance of a human connection when it comes to working with our supplier partners and serving our clients.”
Altour has not yet announced a succession plan following Chemla's departure next month.
Chemla added in a statement: “I believe that there are many opportunities for the talented people at Altour, and I am confident that they are all in good hands at Internova Travel Group. I am committed to a smooth transition as I move on to the next phase of my career.”
Chemla recently received the Ordre National du Merite for his achievements from the French president Emmanuel Macron.
