BBT names the people, companies and technology that look set to revolutionise corporate travel in 2019
We’ve had a large number of entries and suggestions for this year’s Hotlist, all of them worthy contenders. It shows how engaged the industry is with this annual compilation, and made our job of whittling the list down rather difficult.
The final selection, as in past years, is based on a combination of nominations from key industry players and conversations the BBT team has had with our journalists, contributors, readers, colleagues and industry experts. We have decided to again split the list into Industry Influencers and Ones to Watch.
Expect to find some controversial picks – 2018 was a tumultuous year with some tricky discussions within the industry. There were also advancements in technological solutions that could benefit corporate travel managers and travellers alike.
At the time of writing, prime minister Theresa May survived a vote of no confidence after she postponed a vote on her Brexit deal. May jetted off to an EU summit to try to gain a legally-binding assurance that the Irish backstop – by which Northern Ireland is tied to the EU customs union to avoid a hard border with Ireland – would be a temporary solution. Where the UK goes from here, nobody knows, but businesses have been left in a fog of uncertainty.
We hope you’ll find the final list to be comprehensive and thought-provoking but, as always, we welcome your comments on the selections or if you believe a key player has been left out. Please share your thoughts on Twitter and Linkedin, as this will help us shape the Hotlist for 2020.
