Ian Brown
Business events and meetings trade association Beam has announced that Ian Brown is joining the board as its new marketing director.
Brown, who has more than 15 years’ experience in the sector, will continue in his current role as venues and events director at the VBX agency alongside his responsibilities with Beam.
“It’s an inspiring time for the association as we look to further establish Beam as a brand, expand our members across new and different specialities and support our industry with the challenges the past two years have thrown at us,” he said.
Brown founded VBX’s events arm, which focuses on corporate event production and venue sourcing, with business partner Jess Hobday in 2021.
Beam’s chair Sian Sayward said its board would be strengthened by Brown’s “insight and experience”, as the association looks to “sharpen” its focus and create a more diverse membership. Beam was previously known as the Hotel Booking Agents Association before rebranding in 2021.
