Bluvacanze Group, the parent company of Italian TMC Cisaplina Tours, has recruited Alessandro Bruni as the group’s new chief information officer.
As part of this new role, Bruni will oversee IT departments serving all the company’s business units – including its travel agency network, tour operating brand and its business travel, events and MICE operations.
He will also be responsible for managing company information systems, including travel service booking, as well as business intelligence activities and cyber security.
Based in Milan, Bruni joins the group from luxury hotel group Baglioni, where he spent the last 15 years overseeing IT projects and operations.
Bluvacanze Group CEO Domenico Pellegrino said Bruni’s timely appointment “will best support” the company’s ‘digital transformation’ as it looks to sharpen focus on artificial intelligence and the online-to-offline ‘hybridisation’ of travel distribution.
Earlier this month, Cisalpina updated its MyTico self-booking tool to facilitate virtual credit payments via an integration with payment provider Nexi.
Commenting on his new role, Bruni said: “IT systems represent the evolutionary driver of both the travel consultant/agent and the relationship with travellers.”
