CWT has appointed Patrick Andersen as the travel management company’s new CEO with current boss Michelle McKinney Frymire stepping down from her roles with the company.
Andersen, who is currently CWT’s president and chief commercial officer, will take over as CEO from 1 May and will also serve on the company’s board of directors.
McKinney Frymire took over from CWT’s previous CEO Kurt Ekert in May 2021 and guided the company through its successful pre-packaged Chapter 11 bankruptcy process in the US in November 2021.
She said: “Leading CWT through such a critical phase in its evolution has been a great honour. We have made substantial achievements during extraordinary times, and I am grateful to our global team and customers for their trust and supportive partnership.
“Now, with a strong financial foundation in place, CWT is positioned to accelerate its growth plan and I’m pleased to pass the baton to Patrick.”
Andersen first joined CWT in 2008 and his roles have included the launch of myCWT China, expanding RoomIt by CWT and developing long-term GDS technology partnership deals.
“As travel demand increases, CWT is well positioned to invest in and expand its industry leadership and global relationships,” said Andersen.
Jim Abrahamson, chair of CWT’s board added: “We are excited that Patrick will serve as our next CEO, given his outstanding track record as chief commercial officer and 13 years in international leadership roles at CWT. He has deep-rooted relationships with our customers and stakeholders.”
