SilverDoor has launched a new API that enables travel management companies and relocation specialists to provide access to the content of more than 2,600 serviced accommodation providers worldwide.
Once connected to the API, companies will be able to display the aggregated content on their own platforms alongside hotel content and provide comparisons of nightly rates, facilities and carbon emissions. Users will be able to make enquiries or instantly book the serviced apartment content as well as track spending in real time.
Traditionally serviced apartment providers have suffered from the
lack of capability for extended stay content on global distribution systems, but SilverDoor says its API represents a "huge step" in making apartments more accessible to corporates.
Last year SilverDoor reported increased corporate appetite for live and
instant booking of serviced accommodation.
Pauline Houston, SilverDoor’s senior vice president business
development, said: “The message from our clients has been clear for a
long time: if serviced accommodation wants to compete with hotels, they
need to exist in the same spaces, offer live rates, and have seamless,
instant booking technology.
“This API brings the
SilverDoor portfolio squarely into those spaces and is instantly
available to view and book alongside hotel rooms. This represents a huge
step in making serviced accommodation more easily accessible to
relocation and business travel programmes.”
The customisable tool means SilverDoor can make the offering bespoke, working with any client's own technology.
SilverDoor’s chief information and technology officer, Hanish Vithal, added: “This ensures the API fits the client's workflow, making the
process seamless and simple for both travel managers and end
travellers.”
The new technology comes after the November launch of SilverDoor’s carbon calculator tool which allows bookers to compare carbon emissions data for serviced accommodation.
