Advantage Travel Partnership has appointed Andrea Caulfield-Smith as its managing director of global business travel – taking over from Guy Snelgar who has decided to return to his former consultancy business.
The UK-based TMC consortium said that Caulfield-Smith will take up her new position on 15 April and there will be a “robust handover” period with Snelgar who will leave Advantage in July.
Caulfield-Smith is currently director of B2B global travel partnerships at payments giant Visa. Her previous roles have included positions at American Express, easyJet and CWT.
Julia Lo Bue-Said, Advantage’s CEO, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Andrea to Advantage. Her extensive knowledge and experience of the global business travel sector is second to none, and she is excited by the ambitious growth strategy we have set ourselves going forward.
“Andrea’s key focus will be to build on the success of our global business travel division which accounts for over 50 per cent of our membership, with a £7.6 billion annual turnover.
“Her key areas of focus will be to deliver even greater value to our members as we continue to invest significantly in our commercial products and services across this important business division.”
Caulfield-Smith added: “I have always had a great deal of respect for Advantage’s global business travel team and am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to lead the business.
“I am hugely passionate about the business travel industry and very much looking forward to collaborating with members and suppliers to further strengthen our collective businesses.”
Snelgar was appointed to the newly created position of global business travel director at Advantage in 2022.
“I would like to thank Guy for his strong contribution to our growth over the past two years. Under his leadership we have developed an outstanding team and significantly grown our global presence,” said Lo-Bue Said.
