Travel management company Agiito has announced that it is rolling out its new meetings and events platform to the Royal Mail Group in the UK.
Agiito, which was formerly known as Capita Travel and Events, announced in August that its Meetingspro platform now allows meeting organisers to view rates and live venue availability and then submit their enquiry.
Royal Mail is now piloting the enhanced platform with its staff using the tool to find venues for meetings. Plans for other clients to trial the technology are also “in the pipeline”.
Eloise Ferrara-Neched, procurement manager for Royal Mail Group, said: “I’ve been working very closely with the Agiito team and regularly offer my feedback as they adapt their technology.
“Feedback from EAs (executive assistants) so far is that they are excited to use this, as it will enable them to make short-lead bookings quicker. I look forward to working with the team as they continue to develop their meetings technology, such as instant book, which will be a gamechanger for not only my company, but the industry too.”
Ferrara-Neched was named Travel Buyer of the Year at the Business Travel Awards Europe 2022 in September.
Agiito plans to upgrade Meetingspro to give users the ability to make instant bookings, which would allow them to view availability and then book meeting rooms online.
Caroline Medcalf, director of venue find and events at Agiito, added: “We are very excited to see our technology evolving and it’s great to have Royal Mail Group on board. It is important that we match our customers’ booking profiles to ensure the technology will enhance their overall programmes, working in tandem with our experienced offline venue finding team.
“The benefits extend further to the wider industry, as this is market-leading technology. We have much more in the pipeline to release over the coming months, and we are working with suppliers and industry bodies to align the process as we move into this new era of venue find booking.”
