IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced nine new signings across five brands in the UK and Ireland.
The signings add more than 1,000 rooms to IHG's portfolio and include the first voco hotel in Northern Ireland with a property opening in Belfast later this year.
Other signings include the brands Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Staybridge Suites.
Willemijn Geels, VP development, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts said: “Adding over 1,000 rooms through nine new signings is a great reflection of our investment in the UK&I market, and of the confidence of our owners in IHG, who continue to trust us to develop and open successful hotels with them.”
The nine signings include:
- Hotel Indigo Gloucester The Forum – in partnership with Gloucester City Council and the Reef Group, the 131-room hotel is expected to open later this year;
- voco Salisbury – the 57-room hotel will open in the second half of this year;
- voco Belfast – the brand’s debut in Northern Ireland, the 120-room property will be owned by Cliste Hospitality and is due to open this summer;
- voco Leicester – signed with Kew Green Hotels, the 191-room property will open mid-2024;
- voco Manchester – also signed with Kew Green Hotels, and due to open in mid-2024;
- voco The Clifton Folkestone – owned by Leaf Hotel Group, this will be the first voco property in the south east of the UK. The 78-key hotel will open in the second half of this year;
- Holiday Inn Wrexham – owned by QN Hotels, the 87-room property was signed in late 2023 and is set to open early next year;
- Holiday Inn Express Reading Oxford Road – owned by Tulip Real Estate, the 104-room hotel will build on IHG’s existing footprint in Reading and will open in the second half of 2025;
- Staybridge Suites Belfast – offering 132 rooms, and the fourth IHG property owned by Andras House, Staybridge Suites Belfast is cited to open in 2027.
This week IHG Hotels & Resorts announced it is to re-enter the Swedish market after the signing of the voco Stockholm Kista.
